In part one, Mr. Tyrell explains the seven marks of identification of the church which Christ left in the world. Then, in part two, he explains how the Roman Catholic Church changed by substituting each of these defining characteristics. Finally, in part three, he explains how the various denominations contributed toward restoration of the New Testament church the Lord started by restoring one of the defining marks. A reader can easily see that each denomination has some of the marks, but none have all.

The book concludes with a plea for the church to restore all the marks of identification established by the Lord when the church began. This is the call of the Restoration Movement. Leland Tyrell’s wonderful work is perfect for anyone wishing to better understand exactly why there are so many denominations.
