In Christ Alone: Syncretism in the Church of Colossae and in the Church of Today

By: Brian A. Schulz

Page Count: 175

What happens when Christ is no longer enough?

The Christians in Colossae faced a dangerous temptation. They believed in Jesus, yet competing philosophies, religious traditions, mystical experiences, and worldly wisdom were slowly pulling their hearts away from Him.

Two thousand years later, little has changed.

In Christ Alone! takes readers on an engaging journey through Paul's letter to the Colossians, bringing the ancient world vividly to life while uncovering timeless truths for today's believer. With historical insight, practical application, and a passionate commitment to Biblical truth, Brian Schulz demonstrates why Christ is supreme over every philosophy, every religion, every false hope, and every competing worldview.

Whether you're studying individually, leading a Bible class, or preparing sermons, you'll discover again the life-changing message that everything we need—for salvation, maturity, hope, wisdom, and victory—is found… In Christ alone!

About the Author:

For more than twenty years, Brian Schulz has devoted his life to preaching God's Word and helping people grow in their walk with Christ. He serves as the preaching minister of Kent Christian Church in Madison, Indiana, and teaches future church leaders through Louisville Bible College, Advance Center for Ministry Training, Three Strand College of Evangelism, and other ministry training programs.

A dedicated student of Scripture, Brian is especially passionate about theology, philosophy, and Christian apologetics. Whether preaching from the pulpit, teaching in the classroom, or discussing theology on The Theology Nerds podcast, Brian's desire is simple: to help people know Christ more deeply and trust Him more fully.

Brian and his wife, Kelli, have shared over twenty-three wonderful years of marriage and are grateful for their daughter, Cherlanda. When he's not studying or teaching, Brian enjoys traveling with his family, cheering for the Cincinnati Reds, Louisville Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Steelers, and relaxing with a LEGO project or a favorite TV series.
